We’re pleased to share that our article, “The Value of Kobudō,” was featured this month in several Calgary community newsletters published through MyCalgary.com. These neighbourhood publications highlight local programs, culture, and community initiatives — and we’re honoured that kobudō and traditional Japanese martial arts were included.
Our article introduces readers to the meaning and importance of kobudō (古武道), the classical martial traditions of Japan. It explores how these arts preserve cultural heritage, the central role of weapons training, and how kata, etiquette, and body–mind discipline form a living connection to generations of budō practitioners. Although born from historical combat, kobudō today serves as a method for cultivating awareness, posture, character, and community.
